Tips for Healthy Working Feet

• Wear shoes that are appropriate
for your work conditions. Keep in mind safety, temperature
and whether you work indoors or outdoors.
• If you must wear high heels, don’t
go beyond 4.5 cm or 1.5 inches for everyday shoes.
• Stretch your calf and heel muscles
daily to prevent and relieve pain and tension.
• Vary your heel heights from day
to day to provide different stimulation to the foot and leg
muscles.
• Alternate shoes so you’re
not wearing the same pair constantly.
• Always wear comfortable footwear
that fits and is supportive.
• Wear shoes with a strap or lace
over the instep rather than slip-ons. This helps stop the
foot from shifting forward and acts like a seatbelt.
• Adopt a regular foot care regime
(cleansing, massaging and lubricating) to keep your feet in
optimal condition.
• If you suffer from discomfort in
the feet, legs, knees or low back, you can consult your chiropractor
for an assessment and determine whether chiropractic treatment
or orthotics may be beneficial to you.
